These lovely pics come from Shelf/Life in Surry Hills, Sydney. This fabulous store has a great range of hand crafted, local products with ethical awareness. Below is how they describe themselves.

shelf / life was established to provide our customers with a collection of unique, well-crafted items that will be loved for a lifetime and not end up in landfill after a season.

With a background in interior design we offer a carefully selected range of modern classics that will look great in any space while minimising any social and environmental impacts.

At shelf / life we believe that good design shouldn’t be limited to the aesthetic and functional elements. It should also embrace ethical awareness.

MuKau Giftwear & Gallery

Nestled in the tiny town of Cowaramup in the heart of the Margaret River region, MuKau Giftware & Gallery is a unique giftware store owned and operated by Kiwis Wendy and Kerry Sibly.
Having stumbled across the region whilst on an eight month tour of Australia with their two children, they fell in love with the clean air, green landscapes, gorgeous beaches and the creativity of the area .... not to mention the wineries!   So they pulled up stumps after 17 years of life in Melbourne and moved to Cowaramup, population 700 approx, opening MuKau Giftware and Gallery last September 2011.

Wendy had always wanted a giftware store and Kerry has always wanted to pursue his art so it made sense to follow their dreams and start a gift shop and gallery.  The name of their store had to befit the dairy farming town with many local stores already taking up cow themed names including the well known Candy Cow, The Fruity Cow, Udderley Divine, Cowie Surf, Cowie Cuts and LaVaca Loca (The Crazy Cow).  It only seemed right to continue the trend but they wanted a taste of their New Zealand heritage ... so evolved the name MuKau.

Upstairs the gallery houses paintings and photography by local artists including some of Kerry’s own surfing and kite surfing paintings.
Their philosophy for the store is to create a warm and inviting place to shop for all ages.  Local quality handmade products, along with other unique items are sourced from around the globe, setting MuKau apart from the usual.  At the same time their prices remain affordable.

MuKau Giftware and Gallery is proud to supply Melanie’s stunning Eucalypt Homewares and thank her for helping make their dream a reality!
